Mrs. Savage was beloved by many and was one of the nicest people working at MHS.  She had time for everyone, knew everyone's name, and made people feel like they were special.  May fond memories help to ease your loss.

Dear Bill, Billy, Kathy, and Patty, We were so very sorry to hear of Faye's passing. She was always filled with joy, kindness and, especially, a great sense of humor. I can still hear her 'hearty' laugh!  Unfortunately we have been away or we would have been at the wake and Mass.  And to big Bill - I miss my Church boyfriend! Our prayers are with all of you to get through this tough time.

Oh how we loved Mrs. Savage!  She was just the PERFECT woman to greet us in the office of MHS each day- and she knew how to get a HS student to "fess up" when needed.  Her wonderful NY humor always made me feel at home.  I am saddened and wish her family love and prayers..... and the knowledge that she was beloved by thousands of teenagers over the years. I graduated in 93. I worked in the office with Mrs. Savage.  She was so wonderful with all of us!  She will be missed!

I will remember Mrs. Savage as a lady with a sharp sense of humor and a kind and compassionate soul. Her dedication and tireless work were evident to all who had any contact with her. Faye...you will be missed by all who ever had the pleasure of entering the office at MHS. It was an honor to have worked with you and Dora. You made me feel like I was on of your kids. Everytime I got a note in my mailbox saying Mr. (whoever was the principal at the time) wanted to see me, I would walk in and ask "What did I do now?" You would just look at me with you smile and I wasn't worried. You were such a huge part of MHS. You were so very kind to every student, staff member, & parent that walked into the office. Thank you for your kindness and love for all at MHS. Rest in Peace. Keeping your loved ones and friends in my thoughts & prayers.

Mrs. Savage made my four years at Mahwah High School a real treat. She was always kind and smiling...a quick wit also! She new everyone by name...her spirit  and love has never been forgotten. It will remain in my heart always. May you rest in peace. My condolences to the family. God bless.

I am a 1982 alumni of Mahwah High School. I am so very saddened by the news of the passing of Mrs. Savage. She was always so sweet, caring, and a smiling light during my four years in high school. She will be missed by all.

The Lonergan Dr memories will never fade: The water fights- The swimming pool dunkings (Faye was the pool doctor. She would simply smell the water and tell you what chemicals you needed)-The snowball fights: Barbara Churcher was the one who pushed her into the snow drift. Yea, I dragged her out of the house, but Barbara did the deed. I'm still not sure if Faye ever believed me when I told her.

It's been over 27 years since I've seen Mrs Savage's smiling face in the MHS main office. That's how I remember her....always smiling and giving kind words if encouragement to us.....the students. Rest in peace Mrs. Savage!

I graduated from Mahwah High School in 1980 and from the moment we met I knew Mrs. Savage as an amazing, no nonsense, funny woman.  You could get nothing past her.  For some reason she always let me work in the office with her at MHS.  Probably because I would go and talk to her anyway on study hall and she made it official.  I am glad she got to know my children attending MHS 20 years later.  Rest well my friend, we will all see each again.  Walk slowly in the sand and enjoy.

Mrs. Savage was the kind of person you just loved being around. Anything she did for you she did with joy and a smile on her face. She was an example of a good loving person. Its been over 27 years since I saw her at the Mahwah High School campus I've never forgotten her. Thank you for all that you did. You will be sorely missed.

Mrs. S always made trips to the principals office bearable, even when I did not have to go I would pop in just to see her smiling face, wonderful happy lady who will be greatly missed. She made my years at MHS better and would always give me encouraging words when I needed them and a shoulder to cry on after my father passed away. My deepest most heartfelt condolences to all of her family. Cherish the memories, she touched my heart and I believe that I am a better person for having known such a wonderful lady.

Faye was a sweet, happy, and often hilarious presence in the Mahwah High School office during the late eighties and the nineties, and beyond.  During the years that I worked with Faye, we shared many, many great laughs.  I remember a party for her birthday that was given by the high school staff; there was so much love and laughter in that room.  Faye was a truly special person.  I am sending my love and prayers to her family during this sad time.

Mrs. Savage was a great lady.  I remember all the times going into the office both as a student and later as an employee at Mahwah High School and talking with her.  You could tell she was never bothered and really enjoyed working with us kids.  I used the phone on her desk on 09/11/01 and will never ever forget it.  RIP Mrs. S, one of the best.

Faye, growing up in the Bronx were the best of times.  I have such great memories of us at playing card and walking to Arthur Ave for pizza, picnics in Pellam Bay Park and the duck pond in the Bronx Zoo.  You were a dear friend and I will miss you.

I've known Faye since second grade elementary school.  We actually shared a desk together, because the school was so crowded.  For over 70 years, Faye and I were great friends.  She and Bill would visit me and my beloved husband, Joe.  I remember cleaning her oven when she moved into her home in Suffern.  I cannot attend the funeral services, because of my own poor health, but my prayers are with Bill, Kathleen, Patricia, Billy and Dora.

Faye was a very special person.  She was full of love and kindness, and I am grateful that I had the opportunity to know her at MHS.  My heartfelt condolences to the entire family.
