Jeanann Matera died at Good Samaritan Hospital on September 29, 2013, following a lengthy illness and courageous battle for life. She was 52 years old. Jeanann was a beloved Wife, Mother, God Mother, Daughter, Sister, and soon-to-be Grandmother. Jeanann could light up any room with her large brown eyes, a quick wink, a broad smile, and an unending sense of humor. Laughter and a positive spirit were always her best medicine. She was a dialysis patient for more than 20 years, during which she overcame many obstacles. Her fighting spirit inspired others. Our thanks go out to those who cared for Jeanann over the years. We will celebrate Jeanann’s courage and determination at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home on October 1, 2013 from, 3-5 and 7-9PM. On October 2, following a 10AM service at the Funeral Home, burial will be at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, New York.
