Joseph Bertrand Gerard

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph B. Gerard, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, loyal friend and brother . He passed away on Saturday, July 4th, 2025 surrounded by family, at the age of 74.

Born in Haiti, Joseph made the courageous decision to migrate to the United States in 1981, determined to create a better life. Through hard work, faith, and perseverance, he built a legacy rooted in stability and love. He worked faithfully at the same company for over 30 years—a testament to his loyalty, integrity, and quiet strength.

Joseph shared over 50 beautiful years of love and partnership with his devoted wife, Marie Agnes Gerard. Together, they raised a family grounded in love, resilience, and unity. He is survived by his children (Nadjeda Gerard-Johns, Berthide Gerard and Jeremy Gerard. His grandchildren (Averi Johns, Lennox Gerard & Landen Johns) and siblings (Marie F. Vincent, Immaculee Demosthene, Carmel Jeudy, Marie C. Gerard, Saulange Gerard) nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a large extended family who will forever cherish his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering presence.

A man of few words but deep conviction, Joseph was known for his humility, his work ethic, and the sacrifices he made without ever seeking recognition. His gentle smile and devotion to family will never be forgotten.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 18th at St. Joesph Church in Spring Valley at 10am. Family and friends are welcome to join in honoring his memory.

His legacy lives on in every life he touched—and in the deep love he leaves behind.
