I met Yussie at Kazy's Coffee on Eckerson Road, almost 30 years ago and remember him as a positive, happy man. When I mentioned his passing to my family all chimed in with a memory of him from "I bought a cowboy hat from him" to "any kid that went to camp in Rockland will be upset."  We hope you are having a drink with Normie and Pearl.

Joe we had great times playing softball with & against each other. I know playing ball with Alan kept you on the field and brought great happiness to both of you. Thank you for all the enjoyment that you provided. You made it fun. He was a good man who left his mark on so many.

Joe, we met in 1971.  Thank you for your friendship all these years, your kind words always, and sharing your family-sending Alice over to babysit,  and later knowing Matthew, for always laughing, for caring, for asking about our many mutual friends, and never changing yourself.  You were an icon in Spring Valley for many of us.  Love always, your friend, Caroline

It saddens me that our paths did not cross in the later years but Yussie was there for me in my teens, He was my bus driver at Camp Hill and he also worked with the schools (I was a Suffern student and he drove for Ramapo) when I was attending BOCES to drop me off at home when I was having trouble getting home as my BOCES bus dropped me off at RCC a mile from home and I had bone disease and was on crutches. So Yussie would drop me off at my door on his personal time. Several times he would bring me to his house on Lime Kiln Rd and we would just chat. Rest In Peace you have earned it.

Uncle Joe or Yossi was always so vibrant such enthusiasm I will always remember his joy and the warmth he had for all others, and of course his love of sports we will miss him

friendship we shared. I loved you like
family.  We were the Laurel and Hardy of Spring Valley High School. Those skits we used to do for all the faculty
in the break room everyday are some the of the best memories not just for me but for all those we made laugh day after day.  You had a such a kind heart
and spirit. You touched many lives Joe
and you were "THE MAYOR". Everybody loved you.  I will miss you my friend.
Saturday was a very sad sad day for me.
Reality really hit me that day. Thanks

Alice, Jill and family we are so sorry for your loss. Joe was the greatest. There really aren't words to express who he was to my family growing up. If you need anything we are here for you.

So very sorry to hear of your dads passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Joe, we will miss your ever present smile and your great personality.  It was truly a blessing having known you for the past 42 years.  You made going to camp fun and became a friend for life.  Heaven is a little brighter today because you are there.  Rest in peace.
