Lucia E. Schepis

Lucia married Albert Schepis, Sr. in 1959, and they shared 60 wonderful years together until his passing in 2019. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lucia dedicated herself to her family, instilling kindness, warmth and a strong moral upbringing in her children.

She worked for Supermarkets General for 24 years, where she earned a reputation for being a hardworking and dependable woman. Above all, Lucia was a proud homemaker who loved to cook, particularly for Sunday family dinners. She had a passion for reading as well. Her home was always open, filled with love, laughter, and delicious meals, and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Lucia is survived by her five children: Albert (Valerie) Schepis, Jr. of Stony Point, NY, Susan Occhino of Mahwah, NJ, Robert (Corinne) Schepis of Suffern, NY, Jeanne (Patrick) Daly of Pearl River, NY, and Donna Schepis of Suffern, NY. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Nicole, Danielle, Jessica, Erica, Leanne, Robert, Allison, Lindsay, Victoria, and Abigail, as well as one great-grandchild, Emmanuelle.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, NY, at 10:30 a.m., with entombment to follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions in Lucia’s name be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.

Lucia’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. She was a kind, loving, and strong woman who leaves behind an indelible legacy of love and devotion to her family.
