Martin John Ryan passed away at the age of 73. He was a 43 year resident of Suffern, NY, who was born in Bronx, NY. He was a union painter and did private residential painting. Martin served in the US Army for 42 years and retired from The National Guard in 1999. He was an avid fisherman and was also a passionate artist.
He is predeceased by his wife; Catherine Mary Ryan and survived by his loving children; Martin Ryan, Kathleen White, AnnMarie Ryan, Thomas Ryan and Colleen Reuss. Along with his 11 grandchildren; Joseph, Amanda, Emily, Abigail, Molly, Brendan, TJ, Meghan, Kevin, Caitlin and Michael. He was a loving brother to his sisters Katherine Lacey and Marie O'Connor and his 3 brothers, who predeceased him.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901 on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 129 Lafayette Avenue, Suffern, NY 10901 on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 10:30am with the interment to follow at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Road, Airmont, NY 10952.
