Michael was born on August 31, 1933 to Emil and Margaret Spruyt in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated St. John's University and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed by Bloomsburg Mills, Inc. for 30 years until his retirement. He was married to Anna Mae Seery who predeceased him. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and very dedicated to his local parish.
He is survived by his son Michael of Mahwah, NJ, son James and wife Kari of Horseshoe Bend, ID, and daughter Kathleen and husband Kevin of Loxahatchee, FL. He will be greatly missed by his 6 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Kenny.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Suffern NY on Wednesday, December 3rd at 10 am. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Mary Help of Christians Center at www.mhctampa.org.
