Revell Judith Alpert, the daughter of Charlie and Belle Motin, and older sister of Gayle, died on May 19, 2023. Revell was the loving mother of Laura and Deborah Mantell, wife of Norman Alpert, mother-in-law of Mark Bohan and Anthony Magliato, grandmother of Declan and Matthew Bohan, and Stepmother of Joshua and Ben Alpert. Raised in Bayonne, NJ - at a time and in a place where women were underestimated - Revell readily proved that she had the sheer intelligence and drive to achieve whatever she wanted. Any obstacle in her path was just a temporary challenge, which she took in stride and overcame. As what she first wanted was a college education, she attended Cooper Union where, at that time, she was one of a very small number of female students. As she next wanted a career, she proceeded to work at different banks where she held leadership positions. But what she wanted most - and what brought her the most joy - was family. She was immensely proud of her two daughters. She set a role model for them to excel and pursue careers that were impressive and which they found gratifying. When she wanted to retire, she did so at an early age. She devoted her time to doing what she loved: spending time with Norman, her family and friends. Even in her later years, long after her career, she remained the smartest person in the room. Her fun sense of humor and the generous support she provided to her family and friends will be missed. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 25 at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home at 177 NY-59 in Suffern, NY, followed by a graveside burial and then a meal. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Civil Liberties Union or Memorial Sloan Kettering/Dr. Rui Wang. Revell Judith Alpert Haverstraw.
