

Richard E. Malone of Weston, FL passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015; he was 67. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Richard was the only child of Richard and Marguerite Malone. He and his parents settled in Rockland County in 1958, where he lived until moving to Florida in 2013. Richard graduated from Sacred Heart Elementary School in Suffern, then from Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia. He received his bachelor’s degree in English and History Education from Providence College in Rhode Island, then a master’s degree from William Patterson College of New Jersey. He spent his entire career teaching English in Monroe-Woodbury. He served several years as Lead Teacher for one of the divisions of the very large middle school and spent the last ten years of his career as Chairman of the English Department. Additionally, Richard was selected for Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in three separate years. Richard was married on June 28, 1980 to Patricia Noble Doran, who pre-deceased him after thirty-three wonderful years together in October, 2013. For all of his accomplishments, Richard was, first and foremost, an incredible, loving, and devoted husband, who often remarked that he had married “way out of his league.”
He is survived by his cousin, Kathleen Titterton, and her husband, Charles; his godson, and cousin, Paul Titterton, and his wife Sarah Jane, and their three children; his cousin, Lewis Titterton, and his wife Virginia, and their son; his aunt-in- law, Helen Ullrich, and her husband Tom; his sister-in-law, Iris Iozzia, and her husband Robert; his brothers-in-law, Thomas Doran, and his wife, Rachela, and Roger Doran, and his wife Karen; his cousin-in-law, Jocelyn Lange, and her husband, Frank, and their daughter; and beloved nieces and nephew, Allison Doran, Stephanie Iozzia, Brian Doran, and Erica Doran.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901 on Sunday, August 2, 2105 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Church of the Presentation, Upper Saddle River, NJ on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 10:00am with the entombment to follow at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY.
