

Richard John Masley, of Airmont, NY, passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in New York City on June 12, 1936, to the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Chesmar) Masley, Richard led a life full of service, love, and devotion to his family and country.
Richard proudly served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958. A true patriot, he carried the values instilled in him through his military service throughout his life. Following his Navy years, he dedicated his career to the FDNY, where he worked as a firefighter until his retirement. Richard's commitment to his community and his profession was unwavering.
A man of many passions, Richard was particularly known for his love of manicuring his lawn, with a green thumb that made his yard the envy of the neighborhood. His meticulous attention to detail and care for his surroundings was a testament to his personality—steady, hardworking, and always striving for perfection.
Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife, Frances (McCue) Masley, who passed away September 2013. Together, they built a family that he cherished deeply. He is survived by his sons, Richard J. Masley, Jr. (Felicia), James Masley, and Robert Masley, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Samantha, and Richard, all of whom he adored. Richard is also predeceased by his brother, Robert Masley.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Richard’s honor at The Church of the Presentation, Upper Saddle River, NJ, on February 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM. A private cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of choice in Richard's memory. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
