Arno Holmes Schwamkrug

Arno Holmes Schwamkrug "Boxer" 67, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016, morning at Methodist Hospital Sugar Land, TX, due to a massive coronary, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Houston, TX, on July 1, 1949 to the late Arno Hanno Schwamkrug and Pinkie Willene Holmes Schwamkrug. Arno attended Alcee Fortier High School in New Orleans, LA. He was a graduate of The University of Texas in Austin, receiving his Bachelor's in 1971. He was Social Chair of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He then attended Loyola University in New Orleans, LA where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1976. He was an Attorney at Law and an oil and gas land man. He was very passionate about his work and he especially loved walking through oil fields in Texas and New Mexico. He honorably served in the Reserve National Guard. Arno enjoyed golfing, hunting and UT football - a true Longhorn fan. His greatest joy was

being with his children, grandchild, family and friends. Survived by Victor Holmes Schwamkrug, Jancie Alison Schwamkrug (Bobby Jones), Georgann Chandler Schwamkrug (mother), Tori Lane Schwamkrug, Amber Eve Schwamkrug, Cheryl Salisbury Schwamkrug (mother), and grandson, Oliver George Jones; siblings Dixie Arlene Schwamkrug Vermeeren (Barry), Anna Eve Schwamkrug Spalding, Kay Schwamkrug Schroeder (Rob) and

numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. Preceded in death by parents, Arno and Willene Schwamkrug and son, Frederick George

Schwamkrug in infancy. Above all, Arno was a man of God, whose printed message on his business card was a great testimony to our Lord:

I believe in God our Father.

I believe in Christ the Son.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, Our God is three in one.

I believe in the Resurrection,

That we will rise again.

For I believe in the Name of Jesus.

The memorial service will be Thursday, December 22, at 11:30 a.m. at Lakewood Church, 3700 Southwest Fwy, Houston, TX 77027 in the New Beginnings Room, Second Floor.
