Yes, did not realize it had been three years since we lost this great man from this side of heaven's gate.   I still have fond memories of CT  as our  van driver at Family Promise.   The guest homeless kids just loved him and his warm greetings every morning and evening.

They will be talking Chronicle at first and then share about their families and Us that they left behind. 
At least they are not hurting any longer.
So sorry we didn’t keep up with each other these last 5 1/2 years.

I am so sorry for your loss and I commiserate with you and your family. From the time I have known you, one thing I can say for sure it that you and Mr. C.T. were a real christian couple and you could just see the love between the two of you. You were always together, whether it was at church or at our annual Christmas party, you were always together! 
I am praying for you and your family and may Mr. C.T. rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

I did not know CT very well.  But I know Kathy.  And I know CT loved her, and she him.  And CT loved her enough to share her.  Their love was a base, a foundation, for the loves they both gave our community.  I know Kathy's through her attention to so many flood recovery stories within our community.  And CT celebrated her abilities and interests.  That is a good man.  Thank God for him.  God bless the family.

C.T. was one of the most fun and great guys I grew up with.  He was handsome, athletic, and funny.  He is the brother to Carolyn, one of my dearest friends. He was also  good friend to my cousin Butch Wood so he was around often.  If I remember this correctly,  C.T. was my first kiss ever.  Even though I admired him and was glad he gave me some attention, kissing just wasn't my thing at the time.
I was younger than him and had not reached the time of my life where romance meant anything.  LOL  I can hear him laughing at me right now.  Rest in peace C.T.  You will be greatly missed.  

We have lost a wonderful man and friend! We'll miss all of the stories...for 20 plus years we traded anecdotes out on the street while our dogs played chase. You put up one heck of a fight, rest in peace our dear friend. You are greatly missed and our deepest sympathies to Kathy and the family. 

Oh what a blessing to have known you!  Such a great friend!  I remember when you met my best friend Kathy, and the romance began.  We had to check you out to protect our friend.  But you were great, made us all laugh.  You will be missed by all of us that loved you, but you will live on in our hearts until we all laugh again together.  



I will always remember CT and his wonderful warm presence among everyone he met.  In the early days of Family Promise, CT lent such uplifting support for the families and especially the children who were going through such tough times when he was the van driver.    Also during the Family Promise Day Center community meeting, he and Kathy were so instrumental in helping address their neighbors' concerns about having homeless families served there.   May God's peace arise in the many warm memories of a good man.     

I will miss my dear friend. We worked together, had lunch every week and told old stories. Every time he called he would start the conversation with “ is this my brother from another mother”.   Sometimes I felt he was my brother. I’m so glad he is not hurting any more. Love you brother

So many memories were made every time someone got to visit with C.T.  He jumped into any discussion with his quick wit, funny stories, informed opinions, kind respect,  funny or good questions, a little teasing,  implicit truth, considerate listening skills, and his deep understanding.  I never met a person that didn’t enjoy meeting C.T. He was a wonderful man.

I loved him like a brother, yet I remember how often he would tell me ‘Dumb Blonde’ jokes just to rile me up! Riled not because I’m blonde,  but  because he knew my intolerance for sexism and knew it would only encourage a fun debate.  C.T.  was sure I’d exhaust myself trying to pound my opinions into his brain, and of course he was right... Finally, when he would look me in the eye, and put a hand on my shoulder saying “I was just  giving you a hard time” he grinned and beamed having enjoyed some time teasing and visiting with family.

I have one other “C.T. Memory” I’d like to share.  One time I heard him talking on the phone making a hotel reservation. It went like something like this....

C.T.: “Hello, my name is C.T. Renfrow and I’d like to reserve a room.”

Agent:  “Blah, blah, blah?”

C.T.: “C.T. Renfrow.”

Agent:  “Blah, blah, blah, blah?”

C.T.:  “You bet I can!! I’ve been doing that ever since Elementary School!!”

Agent: “Blah, blah, blah? “Blah, blah?”

C.T. : “You mean to say y’all need me to prove I can spell my own name just to reserve a hotel room?”

Agent: “Blah, blah, blah.”

C.T. : “Fine, but this sure doesn’t make a lick of sense to me...
C-T-R-E-N-F-R-O-W.”  

This man could make anyone laugh. I am so thankful he found my sister, Kathy.  He made her happy and laugh often. She deserved true attention, affection, and devotion, and C.T. was the one who brought all that and more to her.  He was a wonderful man. I will miss him terribly.


To: Mrs. Renfrow, Suzette, Rod and Family,  I cant not tell you how much my dad, Ray Miller, loved your father!   A lifetime of memories and wonderful stories I’ve always heard and I have therefore loved him and all of you and held you close to my heart.    Matter of fact, your dad was the best man in my mom (Peggy Thompson) and dads wedding many years ago and I have always cherished that!    You are in our hearts and prayers throughout this time and always.  Wendy Koenig (Miller) and Family 

C.T. was a wonderful neighbor, always with a good story to tell.  He will be greatly missed by all of us on the street.  He was a favorite! I am just picturing him now with little Tex in his arms again.
