MENSAJE DE LA FAMILIA
In light of COVID 19, we’re changing the plans for the memorial service slightly. Dad’s professional role in industrial safety was nothing to do with infectious diseases, but he wouldn’t have wanted anyone to be at risk. I am sad that we are having to make this decision, but it’s the right thing to do, and we appreciate so much everyone who wanted to be able to attend. I am sure we will be able to find/make other good ways to honor such a great person. We will be sharing the service online. I will let you know more details on where to find that when I can. In the meantime, please do submit your memories of Dad. I know that I for one would love to read anything you might have to say about Dad – a story of a fun time you had with him, what kind of person he was to you, what you admired about him, etc. If you would like to donate in lieu of flowers, the charity Dad liked a lot was Heifer Project International (and a heartfelt thank you to those of you who have already donated in his name; it means a lot). Again, I’ll let you know more details when I can. Best wishes, and stay safe out there. Amy PS: I’m going to leave you with one of the Lord of the Rings quotes that Melanie and I found to incorporate into the service somehow: "Well, here at last, dear friends, on the shores of the Sea comes the end of our fellowship in Middle-earth. Go in peace! I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil." ― The Return of the King, "The Grey Havens"
