Donna Kaye Alexander Wooster Bennink, 69, a loving wife, devoted mother, and grandmother, and good friend, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 after a couragous battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Bennink, and parents, Jack and Mary Alexander. Donna is survived by her daughter Michelle Bennink; daughter Catie Brow and husband Paul; grandchildren TJ, Emma, Faith, Annie, Lily, and Molly; sister Judy Bailey and husband Paul; niece Keri Billings and great nephew Will; as well as dear cousins and friends. Donna was born on September 4, 1947 in Texas City and enjoyed growing up there. Her passion was riding horses and competing in rodeos. She got her first horse at 12 and sold her last one at 35. She adored horses and the friends she made along the way of that journey. Donna graduated from Texas City High School in 1965. She attended Stephen F. Austin for a short while, but returned home to marry Bobby Wooster. Donna worked at Nasa for 14 years and loved her time there. She left to work at Montgomery Wards and always said it was so much fun. She enjoyed retail work and the friends she gained there, especially her future husband Jim. In 1982, she married Jim Bennink and gained two daughters that she treasured. Jim and Donna started a CPA firm together that same year. They spent many years together running that firm and taking good care of their clients. Donna was strong, kind, and loyal. She loved her family deeply and always had time for them. Her grandchildren and great nephew were her joy and she loved watching them grow. She took good care of those she loved. Donna rarely thought of herself and never turned away from her responsibilities. She truly “fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.” We’re grateful that she’s with God now in glory, where there is no cancer, pain, or worry. Donna will be deeply missed by all that loved her.
