ERNEST F. PAAL, age 82, of Houston, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014, in Missouri City, Texas. He was born February, 4, 1932, in Kolocsa, Hungary, to Ferenc and Maria Medgyesy Paal. Ernie received his Master’s Degree in Geophysics in Sopron, Hungary. He and his family then moved to the U.S. in 1956. He then went to work for Exxon for over thirty years. He worked in the research department where he received a patent for his research and development. Ernie held seminars all over the world sharing his research with other geophysicists. His passions in life were spending time with family, reading technical books and magazines, being physically fit, and sharing a good drink with family and friends.
Ernie is survived by his three children, Zoltan, Rita, and Cynthia; his grandchildren, Kellen, Andras, Lance, Brittany, Liam, and Garrett; and his brother, Zoltan, and his family, who currently reside in Salt Lake City, Utah. He leaves us with the knowledge that we were all truly loved.
Ernie’s close friends are invited to a memorial visitation from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Saturday, November 22, 2014, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit).
