Felipe, also known as “Jun,” was born in the Philippines on January 27, 1936, as the first of Dolores and Alfredo Ordonez’s eleven children. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Mapúa University in the Philippines. He emigrated to the U.S. with his wife and four children and worked for Harshaw Chemical and Dow Chemical in Cleveland, Ohio, and then moved to Texas to continue working for Dow Chemical. As an engineer, he traveled to many cities and countries helping to establish chemical plants. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, listening to music, gardening, and growing long beans and tomatoes, and citrus trees. Felipe valued his lifelong friendships with the “Palitaw” group. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren attending their music recitals. Felipe was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will be remembered for his laughter, and trademark smile.
