

Iva Jane (Blayney) Hueske, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November the 19th, 2025 at her residence at the Avenues of Fort Bend, in Missouri City, TX. She was born January 16, 1935 to Mary Alberta Blayney and Cecil Keith at St Joseph’s hospital and raised in Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter James Hueske with whom she was married 67 years. She leaves her son, Michael James Hueske and his fiancée Robyn Achanzar; her Grandchildren Maxwell James Hueske and Madelyn Paige Hueske; her sister Millicent Leyendecker and her two children Lori Herod and Stacy Jacob and their husbands. She also leaves behind her in- laws Floyd Hueske and his wife Patsy Hueske, Joyce Lewis, Maurice Woods, Walline “Butch” Wood and Edward Hueske and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
She was a resident of Houston, Sugar Land and Gay Hill Texas for most of her life. She attended San Jacinto High School and was a member of the Golden Gauchos. She graduated in 1952. She met her husband, Walter James Hueske, riding horses in the country and they were married March 14, 1953 at Riverside Baptist Church in Houston, TX. She worked as an administrative assistant until staying at home to raise their son Michael. Following her home making, she went on to work at Lakeview Elementary School in Sugar Land as both a nurse’s aide and then working as a teaching assistant in the special education department. She and Walter retired and moved to Gay Hill, TX in 2002.
Iva’s passion was for taking care of her loved ones. She dedicated her life to her family- her son and husband as well as being a positive person in the lives of many others. She was always one who would be quick to help out her family, friends and neighbors with their needs, but seldom ask for anything in return. She was a regular attendee of St Peter’s Lutheran church in Gay Hill for many years. She enjoyed family visits, crocheting and reading.
A Memorial service will be held on March 21st, 2026 at 11 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Gay Hill TX. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please send donations to: St Peters Lutheran Church 8201 Old Gay Hill Road, Brenham, TX 77833. Attn: Peggy Reimer.
