Jeff was born in San Antonio, Texas and was the third of four boys born to Gertrude and Ray Ploch. The family moved to Houston when he was a child. He graduated from Marian High School, where he met his soulmate and future wife, Eileen Hurt. They married on March 10, 1979 and were soon blessed with three children; Diana Brandon, and Sean.
Jeff enjoyed a variety of pastimes and hobbies throughout his life. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and John Wayne movies. He cherished spending time with his family. Jeff was a voracious sports fan, fervently supporting the Astros and Texans. For many years, he was active in the ATA (American Taekwondo Association), even owning and operating his own school at one point. He also served as Scout Master at the local Boy Scouts of America Troop 911. In both organizations he touched many lives, forever changing the lives of many young men and women.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude and Ray Ploch. He is survived by his wife, Eileen; his children Diana Ploch, Brandon Ploch, and Sean and Tina Ploch; his brothers and their families Tim and Donna Ploch, Gary and Barbara Ploch, and Steve and Beth Ploch; and seventeen nieces and nephews.
