

John “Jack” Anthony Kluepfel, aged 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 22, 2023, following a valiant three-year battle with bladder cancer. A man with a remarkable ability to bring out the best in everyone, Jack possessed a unique gift for making people feel genuinely seen and cherished. Those who had the privilege to know him were touched by a father who was nurturing, big-hearted, and insightful. Full of charisma, confidence, and kindness, Jack was truly one-of-a-kind, lighting up every room with his presence.
Jack was born on February 14, 1948, in Glendale, NY. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Psychology and his Masters in Business Administration and Human Resources, both from Baruch College at City University of New York. Jack proudly served as cadet colonel in ROTC. After graduation, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
His illustrious career began at the Federal Reserve Bank in New York City, and he spent over 35 years in Human Resources at Schlumberger, serving in various capacities, both at the corporate level and within operating companies. His profession relocated him and his cherished family to destinations across the globe,including New York City, Denver, Jakarta, Singapore, Houston, Paris, Montgomery, and Sugar Land. Between his professional assignments and family vacations, Jack's journeys took him to every single continent worldwide. Post-retirement,Jack continued to impact the HR realm as a sought-after consultant,known worldwide for his unmatched expertise, “a genuine HR guru.”
Outside of his professional pursuits, Jack was a pillar of his community. He was an active member of Sugar Creek Country Club, Saint Laurence Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Imperial HOA Board, and several other esteemed organizations. He dedicated his time to the First Tee Golf, Prison Ministry, and was a valued mentor for the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network.
Those close to him will fondly recall his love for family vacations, grilling sessions, Bible studies, and the joy he derived from socializing at the gym. His passion for golf was evident in his enthusiastic choice of golf attire that became his signature style.
Jack’s impact on those around him was immeasurable, and his legacy of love, compassion, and wisdom will forever be etched in the hearts of many. Rest in peace, dear Jack. May we all strive to touch lives as profoundly as you did.
Jack leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Arleen Veronica Kluepfel, his cherished daughters Kirsten Ramirez and Kaitlin Hanshaw, sons-in-law Andrew Ramirez and Kyle Hanshaw, and five adored grandchildren: Lily Ramirez, Rose Ramirez, Hallie Hanshaw, Hayden Hanshaw, and Hudson Hanshaw. He is also survived by his siblings Eileen Richards, Joan Tilley, and Henry Kluepfel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elizabeth (Lily) Kluepfel, and sister, Mary Anne Kluepfel.
