

Mrs. Lena Mary Leonard, 82, of Sugar Land, Texas went home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 17, 2025. Born June 20, 1942, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Emilia Leone Enrico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Arthur Leonard, who died in 2007.
Mrs. Leonard was a longtime member of St. Edith Stein Catholic Church in Katy, Texas, before moving to the Sugar Land area in 2022 to be closer to her daughter and her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, a fresh cup of coffee, historical romance novels, casino trips with her friends, puzzles, card games, Bingo, animated Disney movies, caring for animals, listening to Luciano Pavarotti, watching any show that featured Tom Selleck, and being an active member of the OWLS (Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors) group at St. Edith Stein.
Surviving are her daughter, Gina Leonard DiPuma and son-in-law, Frank, of Missouri City, Texas; granddaughters, Emily DiPuma and Carly DiPuma, also of Missouri City; sister, Jeanne Ziglar and husband, Jim, of St. Augustine, Florida; brother, Tony Enrico, of Charlotte, North Carolina; nephews, Michael Ziglar (Kathy Hupman), Steven Ziglar (Dawn), Ben Premeaux (Chrissy), and Joe Enrico; niece, Christina Enrico Heinz (Ted); aunt, Anna “Annie” Leone; and numerous cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, where the vigil and recitation of the holy rosary, led by Deacon Leonard Broussard, is to commence at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial is to be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025 at St. Edith Stein Catholic Church in Katy, with the Rev. Fr. Ryszard Kulma as the celebrant. A reception with a light lunch will be provided by the OWLS group in Carmel Hall at the church immediately following the Funeral Mass. The Rite of Committal is to be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on February 7th in South Park Cemetery, 1310 North Main Street in Pearland.
