So sorry to hear of Lew's passing. He was a strong Christian man and a gentle soul. His musicianship was beyond compare, and he never let it get in the way of his faith and sense of humor. For his family, rest in the assurance that Lew is with the Lord and you will be with him again.

I had the great fortune to know Dr. Zailer many years ago. He was a gifted, incredibile musician. His dignified manner and gentile spirit were a blessing to all he came in contact with.

Lew was one of the finest, and most gentle of men, who was also a musician of the most rare category - he was brilliant, used his broad gifts to help the church, and had no need for others to know he was genius.

I have loved Lew for 33 years at Tallowood.  It is true, there was NO ONE like him.  He was this wonderful combination of hysterically funny and deep and thoughtful all at the same time.  We will miss his talent, his humor and his love for music.

The young people's chorus " Christ for Me" (1950's),  was the example of how Lew felt and showed in his presentation of the music he played.  God was in his music talent,  wherever he sat down to an organ, or piano.
