DR. MATHEN MATHEW, age 85, went home to be with his Savior & Lord Jesus, on Thursday, November 24, 2011. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary John; and brothers, John Mathew and Thomas Mathew. He is survived by his loving wife, Annie Mathew; brother, George Mathew; sons, Mathen P. (Bobby) and Joseph; daughters-in-law, Martha and Asuncion; and grandchildren, David, Esther, Jonathan, Eliza, and Susanna. Born in Secunderabad, India, he studied Medicine in Mirage and Ahmedadabad, finishing up his post-doctoral work in Vellore Christian Medical College. An Anesthesiologist by profession, he worked for the Southern Railway Hospitals in Trichy and Madras for many years, and came to the U.S. in 1972, where he worked at Mt. A man of prayer and devoted to what was true, just and righteous, he leaves a lasting legacy of faith and eternal hope to all who know him. His love for Christ was evident through his support for many ministries, including that of the Houston International Christian Fellowship, to which he gave much personal energy. We miss him greatly but know that we shall see him again in heaven where our Lord who removed the “sting” of death shall wipe away every tear. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 PM, Saturday, December 3, 2011, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit), with a visitation beginning at 11:00 AM, prior to the service.
