Willie graduated from Turner High School and later attended the University of Houston - Downtown. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. After the Military he worked for the U.S. Post Office and retired as a Postal Clerk. Willie and his wife were members of Covenant Glen Methodist Church
Willie is survived by his spouse, Sharon McLemore, married for 44 years; his son James Anthony Sanders; sister Henrietta McLemore and his brother Alphonso McLemore. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Willie was preceded in death by his son Christopher McLemore; his father Henry McLemore and his mother Murnice McLemore; his brothers Wilton McLemore; Marvin McLemore and Gwanzell McLemore.
A committal service for Willie will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 10:45 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, Texas 77305.
