ZANDRA YOLIMA LOZADA, age 42, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by people who loved her. Zandra was born in Paipa, Colombia, on September 15, 1970, to Ciro Roberto and Maria del Rosario Rojas.

Zandra was a graduate of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogota, Colombia, with a Degree in Journalism and Communications. Subsequent to completing her studies, she worked for a non-profit agency which assisted troubled and battered women and children in need. Zandra loved children and this was always evident in her employment selections.

Shortly after moving to the United States, Zandra became an elementary school teacher at the Fort Bend Independent School District, working at Mission West Elementary School for five years, and at Arizona Fleming Elementary School for seven years. She took great pride and joy in teaching young children and encouraging them to always work hard and try their best.

Zandra also enjoyed traveling, dancing, listening to music, watching movies and spending time with family and close friends that she loved. Most recently, she was ecstatic and delighted with preparations for the arrival of her two children.

Zandra will always be remembered for her inner and outer beauty, delightful smile, enthusiasm, and willingness to help others.

Zandra is survived by her husband of 14 years, Albert Lozada; two newborn sons, Nicolas and Daniel; her parents; sisters, Ana Patricia Rojas and Rocio Rojas; brother, Ciro Alfonso Rojas; brother in law, Andres Naranjo; sister in law, Adriana Taylor and her husband Matthew Taylor; nieces, Natalia Naranjo, Andrea Naranjo, and Bianca Taylor; nephews, Mateo Taylor and Tomas Taylor; and in laws, Rafael and Stella Umana.

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, April 29, 2013, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX 77478, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 3100 Sweetwater Blvd., Sugar Land, TX 77479, with the Rev. Drew Wood, officiating.

A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
