

She was a native of Alco and had raised her family in Lake Charles. She retired to Anacoco for 29 years before moving to Sulphur in 2004. Alma had been employed as a greeter with Walmart for 11 years, working in Leesville and in Sulphur. She was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle in Sulphur and loved spending time with her devoted family.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindi Gass Goodeaux and husband, Louis of Sulphur; her sons, Gregory Lynn Gass of Sulphur and Larry Gene Gass and wife, Lottie of Mittie; her grandchildren, Charlotte Gass, Michelle (Tommy) Greenlee, Jared (Arlette) Gass, Misty (Scott) Jones, Melissa (Nathaniel) Bates, Beau Armentor, and Alton (Rhonda) Gass; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death her loving husband of 40 years, Jakie Roy Gass; her parents, Rev. Jacob "Clyde" and Pearlie Holsomback; and brothers, E.W. "Dudley" and Dale Holsomback.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Allan Upton will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. in Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco following the funeral service. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service.
