She was a native of Morrisville, New Jersey and had been a resident of Sulphur since 1972, coming from Louisiana, Missouri. Betty was a former member of the Sulphur Wrackette's and the Sulphur Ladies Auxiliary. Her family was her whole life. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver, and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Emerald Jones of Sulphur; one daughter, Bonnie Burns and husband, Jeff of Gonzales; two sons, Dale W. Jones and wife, Mary of Palmyra, Missouri and Barry G. Jones and wife, Cathy of Wilmington, Delaware; four grandchildren, Lance Jones and wife, Stacy, Mandi Crane and husband, Daric, April Jones, and Matthew Jones and wife, Jess; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 19, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Nancy Wofford will officiate. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until the time of service Monday in the funeral home.
