

He married the love of his life, Jennie Beth Blake in 1952. Bill served his country in the United States Navy. He had a passion for flying and co-owned several airplanes throughout the years. He loved sharing that passion with others, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren by taking them on short flights creating lasting memories while sharing his love of flying.
Better known as “Pawpaw” to his family, he always supported those he loved most. He coached recreation sports including teams his children played on and later rarely missed a game or event for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He found happiness in playing tennis, riding his bicycle, and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed sitting outside reading, watching the birds, and admiring a good rainstorm. More than anything, he treasured the time spent with his family, especially playing with his grandchildren and sharing life with his wife.
He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Mobley (Dale); daughter-in-law, Lyubov Sellers; his 6 grandchildren, Julie Barrilleaux (David), Laura Miller, Stacey McCown (Ryan), Bradley Sellers (Kimberly), Jennifer Ellender (Luke), and Matt Mobley (Jamie Leigh Dill); along with 13 great-grandchildren, (Katelyn, Brant and Lauren; Bryce and Macey; Avery, Austin, Kyndall, and Jason; Tyler and Kasen; Kade and Kyndal); and five great-great-grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by two siblings, Margie LaFleur and Shirley Huval.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife; his daughter, Melissa Oliver; and his son, David Sellers; and numerous siblings.
Bill will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love for nature, and the deep devotion he had for his family. His legacy and memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Bill‘s life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, Louisiana on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 11:00 am, with Hixson Celebrant Jody Tyler. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from
5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, from 9:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, Louisiana.
