She was a native of Leesville and a longtime resident of the Sulphur-Westlake area. Brenda enjoyed cooking, fishing, dancing, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include the love of her life, her fiance' Paul Ardoin of Westlake; her son, Chad Martin and wife, Hope of White Haven, Pennsylvania; her father, Billy Rather of Sulphur; one brother, Gerald Rather and wife, Sheila of Iowa; three grandchildren, Ashley Jones, Kenneth Martin, and Adelena Martin; one great-grandson, Jayden Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Rather; and siblings, William Walker, Billie Plummer, and Douglas Rather.
A Celebration of Brenda's Life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 29, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home led by Jody Barrilleaux, Celebrant.
