

Carl was a Sulphur native and attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He enjoyed his camp on Moss Lake and spending time there on his pontoon boat.
Survivors include his loving wife of 3 1/2 years Karen Richard Weidner; parents Alvin and Florence Weidner of Sulphur; sons, Joseph Weidner and wife Ally of Carlyss, and Robert Weidner and wife Rebecca of Kinder; daughters, Michelle Borel and husband Andy of Orange, Texas, Kimberly McCullough and husband Truxton of China, Texas, and Emily Weidner of Ruston; stepsons, Dr. Allen Vander and wife Emily of Thibodeaux, and Jeffery Vander and wife Shireen of Sulphur; siblings, Paul Weidner, Christine Madison and husband Patrick, Alvin Weidner, Jr. and wife LaJuan, Glen Weidner and wife Candy, Cynthia Brown and husband Keith, and Melanie Savoie and husband John; 13 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Beneva Ann Weidner.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, February 4, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur. The Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery of Lake Charles under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday with a scripture service at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary, and from 8 a.m. Monday until time of service, all at the funeral home.
