Charles "Chuck" Atherton Jr.

He was a lifelong resident of Sulphur and was a 1986 graduate of Sulphur High School. Chuck and his wife, Tina founded their business, "Custom Dirt Work" over 20 years ago. He was always known as a hard working family man. Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving & devoted wife of 31 years, Tina Trosclair Atherton; his children, Jamie Nunez (Daniel) of Grandlake, LA, Charles "Lil Chuck" Atherton III, Kyle Atherton (Amber Johnson), and Hailey Atherton all of Sulphur; his grandchildren, Grayson & Madyson Nunez; his father, Charles H. Atherton Sr. of Sulphur; his brothers, Mickey, Chris, Will, and Randy Atherton; and a host of extended family members and friends. Chuck is preceded in death by his mother, Lynda Atherton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Pastor Dwayne Hyatt will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 in the funeral home and will resume on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 9 am until 2 p.m. Burial will follow funeral service in Mimosa Pines North Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
