Charles was a native of Patterson, Louisiana and graduated from Patterson High School in 1967. Upon graduating he was drafted into the United States Air Force and proudly served two terms. He was assigned to the Aluminum Corrosion Control Division which painted aircraft. After being discharged from the Air Force, he came to work for Boeing in Lake Charles and began his life in Sulphur. Charles also was an Semi Truck driver, worked at the local airport with his brothers, and retired as an electrician.
Charles enjoyed gambling, reading, watching westerns, fishing, but especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Charles was kind hearted and would help anyone in need.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Eleanor Blanco, and a brother, Stanley Blanco, Jr., sister, Elizabeth "Beth" Daigle and her husband, Larry, and best friend, Ricky Frauenberger.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Charles Blanco, Jr. and wife, Lanie; daughter, Rio Blanco; two grandchildren, Aliya Young and Zadon Blanco; step-children, Dianne Simien, Louis Dean, and Bernice Thomas and husband, Brad; brothers, David Blanco and his wife, Marlene, Daniel Blanco and his wife, Debbie, and Robert "Bobby" Blanco; sister, Eleanor "Teeny" Blanco; dear friend, Linda Frauenberger; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Charles' wishes were to be cremated and cremation was entrusted to Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
Charles' family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Amedisys Hospice for the excellent care that Charles received.
