She was a native of Oberlin and had been a resident of Carlyss since 1989, coming from Alexandria. Clara was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed embroidery and spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynda Crouch and husband, Wayne of Carlyss; one sister, Blanche Manuel of Sulphur; four grandsons, Thad Crouch, Brent Crouch, Brett Crouch, and Drew Crouch; and three great-grandchildren, Katlyn Meyers, Benjamin Crouch, and Mackenzie Crouch. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Campbell; and her siblings, Anderson Carpenter, Lawrence Carpenter, and Eugenia Sharpe.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Dr. David Holder will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Alexandria Memorial Gardens Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Robert Cormier. Pallbearers will be Thad Crouch, Brent Crouch, Brett Crouch, Drew Crouch, Wilford Manuel, Jim Walsh, Ronald Elliott, and Michael Campbell. Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
