
He was a pioneer family member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He retired from Cities Service as an engineer. Mr. Schexnailder was born November 26, 1917, in Garyville to Robert and Calice Hidalgo Schexnailder.
Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Schexnailder of Sulphur, two daughters, Lynn and husband Tim Leger of Sulphur, Jill and husband Ted Queen of Luling, three sons, Don Schexnailder and wife Reba of Sulphur, Mark Schexnailder and wife Dee of Carlyss, Sandy Schexnailder and wife Kathy Daigle of Grand Prairie, Texas; one sister-in-law, Alice Schexnailder of Seabrook, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Wade Wright, Deb Wright Crochet, Sean Davis, Ryan Davis, Eric Leger, Amie Young, Tad Schexnailder, Tyler Schexnailder, John Queen, Carly Queen, and Kate Leger; and eleven great grandchildren Lexie, Michael and Chastity Crochet, Ava Wright, Sam, Michael and Gracie Davis, Alyssa and Aubrey Leger, Jaiden Darbonne, and Taegan Young. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert E and Calice Hidalgo Schexnailder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 16th, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau and Deacon Bud Wagner will officiate. Burial will be the Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the church.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations in Clyde’s memory be made to Our Lady’s School Library or Immaculate Conception Church PREP program.
