Cynthia Dianne Lyons

Cynthia Dianne Lyons, 71, met Jesus in Glory Thursday, October 23, 2025, at High Hope Care Center in Sulphur, LA. She was born August 20th, 1954 in Munich, Germany to JC and Theda Thomas while Dianne’s father was stationed there serving in the United States Army. Dianne, as she was known, grew up in Lake Charles, LA and attended La Grange High School where she graduated in 1972. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Special Education from McNeese University. She met her future husband, Don Carson Lyons while in college, and married Don in 1984. They lived in Sulphur, LA where she and Don had a small farm.

Dianne taught special needs children in Welsh and Jennings LA. Later, after Dianne retired from teaching, she worked at a flower shop in Lake Charles. She loved to be at home with Don helping on the farm. She is preceded in death by her husband Don who passed away September 15th, 2025, and her parents some years earlier. Dianne is survived by her sister Sallie Cormie Hoekema of Manhattan, MT.
