

PeeWee was a native of Crowley and lived in Sulphur since 1957. He attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor, where he was a garden angel. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1964 and was a strong supporter of Sulphur High Football. He loved woodworking and especially loved his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Dianna Vaussine Istre; daughter Traci McKnight and husband Joey of Sulphur; son Matthew Istre of Sulphur; brother L.J. Istre of Crowley; grandchildren, Ashli McKnight, Shelbi McKnight, Dylan Istre, Kaytlan Istre, and Ty McKnight; and great grandchild Addysyn Landry.
He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Winnie Istre; and sister Louella LeBlanc.
His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas Hume will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m.. Another visitation will be Thursday in Geesey Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Abshire Cemetery in Lyonspoint.
