Donald was retired from DSI transport after 30 years of service. His favorite pastime was working with J&R Carriage Company. Donald loved camping, fishing and most of all his family. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus at Christmas time.
He is survived by his children, Rayford Moyer and wife, Sarah and Mary Newman and husband, Ronald all of Sulphur; siblings, Marie Vincent, Jerry Benoit, Frances Thibodeaux and Catherine Dudoit; 5 grandchildren, Victoria Gobert and husband, Mark, Thomas Moyer and wife, Beverly, Elizabeth Dean and husband, Isaac, Dallas Mann and wife, Christina, and Daniel Mann and wife, Jennifer; 11 great grandchildren, Kyle, Charlie, Aleck, Austin, Devin, Dakota, Kyle, Paden, Gavin, Jayce and Madisyn.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Grace Moyer; sister, Faye Kennedy; parents, Donald L. Moyer and Juanita Vincent.
His funeral service will be 7pm, Thursday, August 14th at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Thursday 10am until time of service. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
