

Mrs. Ford has resided in Sulphur for the last 10 years. She was a native of Noble, LA and lived in Leesville for most of her life. Doris and her husband, Bert, owned Ford’s Camp at Anacoco Lake for over 40 years. Many of the camp’s visitors were from this area and became lifelong friends. She was an active member of First Pentecostal Church of Leesville for many years and was known for her strong faith in God. Doris was an excellent cook and seamstress and will be remembered as a “Mother to all”, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George B. “Bert” Ford; brothers, Wayne Webb and Hubert Webb; and sisters, Sybil Mills and Lorraine Odom.
Survivors include her son, Ray Ford and his wife Deborah Lancon Ford of Sulphur; daughter, Gwen Martin Bailey and husband Lonnie of Rosepine; four grandchildren; Randall Martin and wife Beth of Anacoco, Dianna Barber and husband Eddie of Alabama, Dr. Brian Ford and wife Tracy of Lake Charles, Kimberly Ford Lenhart and husband John of LeBlanc; ten great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with services at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 in Harvestime Worship Center, 4797 Hwy. 27 South, Sulphur, LA 70665. Rev. Marshall Baggett and Rev. M.C.
