Edgar Robertson

Edgar Robertson, 94, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, in his residence.He was a native of Jena and had been a resident of Sulphur for over 60 years. Edgar was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a graduate of Northwestern State University and had attended Louisiana State Normal College and Louisiana State University. He retired from Cities Service after over 30 years of service as a Chemist. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.Survivors include his son, Lester Robertson and wife Cynthia of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Thelma Robertson of Buna, Texas; three grandchildren, Melissa Robertson Beaugh and husband Troy, Janna Robertson Bumgarden and husband Joe, and Joe Robertson; and three great-grandchildren, Alicia and Grace Theriot and Christopher Bumgarden.He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Robertson.His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, in Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena. The Rev. Walter Lloyd will officiate. Burial will be in Tidwell Cemetery in Jena. Visitation will be held in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and will resume on Monday in Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena from noon until the time of service in the funeral home.
