

Elsie Mae Theriot, 100, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at a local care center. She was born in Lake Charles on June 30, 1916. She was an excellent seamstress, gardener, and she always had a yard full of beautiful flowers. She was proud of the fact of being the “Bingo Queen of Holly Hill” and never missed it. Elsie was an excellent Artist and enjoyed doing crafts.
She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Hines and husband Terel of Sulphur, Janise Martin and husband James of DeQuincy; brother, Fred Martin and wife Dolores of Lake Charles; sisters, Rita Begnaud of Lafayette, Faye Ross of Virginia, Betty Broussard and husband Pat of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Suzanne Yellott and husband Kirk of DeQuincy, Steve Martin and wife Lisa of DeQuincy, Mark Hines of Sulphur; great grandchildren, Daylon Hines, Brennan Duhon, Bailee Hines, Matthew Martin, Patrick “P.J.” Martin, and Adam and Lizzy Lopez.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gaston Theriot, II; her parents, Allen and Aimee Martin; son, Joseph Gaston “Terry” Theriot, III; brother, Allen Martin, Jr.; along with grandson, Gregory Hines.
Services will be held at Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 1:00pm with Deacon Chris Gregory officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 10:00am until the time of the service. A Rosary will be held prior to the service starting at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South.
