

Saturday, August 18, 2012, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur. Rev. Daniel Stanley from Bethany Baptist Church in Lebleu Settlement will officiate. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Iowa. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Mrs. Stutzman died at Stonebridge Assisted Living Facility in Sulphur, on August 15, 2012.
She was a native of Acadia Parish and was a long-time resident of Iowa. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Training Union leader, Women’s Ministry Union Director. She held offices in associational and state WMU boards.
She graduated from Iowa High School as salutatorian of her class. She served as a civilian volunteer during World War II with the Red Cross at St. Patrick’s Hospital. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Austin G. Stutzman preceded her in death. Mrs. Stutzman had two sisters, the late Emma Laura Cooke of Iowa, and the late Vera Daspit of Alexandria. She is survived by three nephews, Fred Cooke, Sr. of
Sulphur, Jack Cooke of Marietta, Georgia, and Charles Daspit of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
