

Mr. Nassar was a lifelong Sulphur resident, attended Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served his country in the Army. George was employed for many years with Sulphur Electric and retired from IBEW Local 861. He was an avid fisherman, spending most weekends with his family at Toledo Bend. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Survivors include his wife, of 51 years, Priscilla "Cilla" Carpenter Nassar; daughter, Crystal Nassar Castille and husband Shannon of Carlyss; two sons, Larry Nassar and wife Barbie of DeQuincy, and Barry Nassar and wife Joni of Sulphur; sisters, Marie Openshaw and Betty Berwick; brother, Michael Nassar, Jr.; and eight grandchildren, Shayna Duplichan, Logan Castille, Brant Nassar, Kaitlyn Mouton, Emily Castille, Laci Nassar, Kayleigh Christerson and John Christerson; and one great grandchild, Lane Brown.. He is preceded in death by his sister, Kaylynn Chaisson.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 19 in Our Lady Of LaSalette Catholic Church. The Rev. Joe Aquino will officiate. Interment will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, 4 - 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. followed by a Cursillo Rosary at 7 p.m. The visitation will resume Monday from 8 - 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
