

SULPHUR - Gerald Milton Smith, age 75 passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Gerald was a Chief Pipeline Technician retiring from Targa Midstream. He was also a member of Unions Local 106 out of Lake Charles, La. and Local 798 out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. After retirement he loved traveling all over with his wife, Darlene of 52 years. He was an avid gun collector and coin collector. He also loved genealogy research and was a history buff. Gerald was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include son, Gerald Wallace Smith and wife, Kathy of Beaumont, Texas; son, Gary Neal Smith and wife, Pam of Sulphur; a daughter, Susan Smith Brotherton and husband, John of League City, Texas; five grandchildren, Alex Smith, Zachary Smith of Sulphur, Taylor Touchette, Marla Suarez Snider and Matt Suarez, all residing in the Houston area; five great-grandchildren, Morgan, Hayden Snider, Noah Suarez, Nicholas and Levi Smith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Lyons Smith, parents, Aubrey M. and Juanita Smith, and a sister, Janice Coburn.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel. Minister Brian Spicer will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss.
