Grace Nelwyn Jones

Grace was a native and lifelong resident of Carlyss until 2005 when she moved to San Francisco, California. She retired from Ellender and Broussard Architects after 35 years of service. She was a member of Eastern Star Love Chapter #209 and Choupique Baptist Church. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada.

Survivors include her son, Danny Jones of San Francisco, California; her daughter, Debra Morrison and husband, Craig of Carlyss; her sisters Mary Castille of Carlyss, Faye Benoit of Riverside, Texas, and Juanita Hebert of Lafayette; her brothers Henry Pendarvis of Carlyss and John Pendarvis of Shidler, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Jones and her parents John and Jessie Pendarvis.

Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Nay Vickers. Visitation will be from 9 a.m., Saturday until the time of service and burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss.
