Bucky was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. He was a 1952 graduate of Sulphur High School and then graduated from LSU where he was on the track team and was also in the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He worked for many years as Senior Vice President of First Federal Savings and Loan. In 1954 he married Janice Joyce Guillotte. They were married until her death in 1981.
Bucky was a member of Henning Memorial United Methodist Church where he served as a Deacon and on the church finance committee, the Sulphur Rotary Club, The Optimist Club, The ROMEOS, and served on the Board of Directors for both the West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital and the Calcasieu Parish Housing Authority. He enjoyed fishing at his camp in Hackberry, golfing, being outdoors, and traveling with the love of his life, Jean. They saw 47 states together including Alaska, and also Canada and Mexico.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lila Jean Scott Rezabek Busch of Sulphur; his children, Herman Martin "Marty" Busch, III of Sulphur and Cynthia Gayle "Cindy" Busch Beaulieu and husband, Tony of Charlotte, North Carolina; his step-children, Janeth Roeland and husband, Eddie of Gainesboro, Tennessee, Debi Elliott and husband, David of Memphis, Tennessee, Gregg Rezabek and wife, Lori of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Kendall Joe Rezabek of Jackson, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Herman Martin Busch, IV, Gunnar Robert Busch, Zachary Alexander Beaulieu, Alix Genevieve Beaulieu, Lauren Beaulieu Williams, and Marcelle Elise Beaulieu; two great-grandchildren, Herman Martin "Quinn" Busch, V and Richmond Carter Busch; and numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Joyce Guillotte Busch; his son, Carter Harrington Busch; his parents, Herman Martin Busch, Sr. and Neva Carter Collins Busch; and his sister, Joan Wallace and her husband, J.B.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, August 17, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Juliet Spencer will officiate.
