James "Jim" Edward Amuny, 90, of Sulphur, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025. He was born to his late parents, Jimmy and Gertrude Amuny on June 22, 1935 in Sulphur, Louisiana. He was proud of his military service in the United States Navy toward the end of the Korean War. He was owner/operator of various local businesses in the Sulphur area.
He is survived by his brothers, Abraham Jack Amuny (Heather) of Houston, Texas and Robert "Bob" Amuny of Sulphur, Louisiana; sister, Judy Cook of Mansfield, Texas; along with his niece, Lana Amuny of Sulphur, Louisiana; along with other nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death his parents; along with his brother, William "Billy" Amuny.
A Celebration of Jim's life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, Louisiana on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 1:30 pm, with Hixson Celebrant Jody Tyler. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, beginning at 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, Louisiana.
