James was a native of Borger, Texas, and lived in Sulphur for over 40 years. He loved gardening, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter, Christy Hatley and her husband Roy Grevemberg, of Sulphur; sons, Michael Hatley and his wife Tammy, of Witchita, Kansas, and Andy Parker, of Sulphur; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Veda and Ray Hatley; and sister Judy Hatley.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial. Pastor Vince Guidry will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of service, all at the funeral home.
