He was a native of Shreveport and had been a resident of Sulphur for many years. James had been employed by Boilermakers Local #79 for over 40 years and spent his last six years before his retirement, serving as the Business Manager and Secretary/Treasurer for the Local. He enjoyed watching baseball, especially the New York Yankees, and also enjoyed discussing politics.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Debra "Debbie" Landers; two sons, James Clifford "Cliff" Landers, who was also his loving caregiver and best friend, and Todd Christopher Landers, all of Sulphur; three sisters, Theresa Kloehn and husband, Dr. Ralph Kloehn of Hartland, Wisconsin, Rose Scott and husband, Richard of Dallas, Texas, and Ann Monroe and partner, Buddy Bougere of New Orleans; mother-in-law, Juanita Davis; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Malsch; and a brother, Michael Landers.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
