She was a native of Sulphur, graduating from Sulphur High School in 1958, and had been a resident of Moss Bluff for the last 32 years. Jimmie Lynn was a member of Houston River Baptist Church and the Love Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She retired in 2006 from Turner Industries after over 30 years of service. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will be dearly missed her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Jay Ellender of Moss Bluff; her son, Michael Kyle and wife, Bridget of St. Amant; her grandson, Barrett Patrick Kyle; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Velda Barrett; and her two sisters, Wanda Gaye Lamberth and Donnie Faye Richardson.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 20, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. George Barrett officiated. The family received friends from 4-9 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
