Joseph Lee "Buddy" Benoit, 79 passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 in a local care center.

He was a native and lifelong resident of the Sulphur-Vinton area. Buddy was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Sulphur. He enjoyed being outdoors.

Survivors include his sons, Greg Benoit of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ray Benoit and wife, Lisa of Sulphur, and Joey Benoit and wife, Jamie of Carthage, New York; his sister, Betty Sallier and husband, Buddy of Lake Charles; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Jean Benoit; a son, Randy Benoit; and a sister, Beverly Carper.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 23, in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
