Larry was a native of Coffeyville, KS, and had lived in Sulphur for 39 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and golf, and had coached girls fastpitch softball.
Survivors incude his sons Larry Joe Carter, Jr.of New Orleans, and Kevin Dean Carter of Marion, KS; daughter Kim R. LaFleur and her husband Tony of Sulphur; sister Charlotte Holloway of Sulphur; brother Leonard Carter, Jr., of Crystal Lake, IA; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard J. and Nora Nadine Carter; and his great grandchild Brookelynn Boone.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Heather Leyland will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8-10 a.m. in the funeral home.
